The Day of Famous Symbols
With the elegant attendance of the festival’s main patron and supporter, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council of Dubai Government, the curtain came down on the incomparable finale of The His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Pure-bred Arabian Camel Races Festival 2019.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, was in attendance of the race, allocated to the Laqaya Category designated for their Highnesses the Sheikhs.
Morning Session
The morning session witnessed the dominance of Al Asifa Camels trained by Geyath Al Hillali, when they snatched 8 laps out of the 16 laps allocated.
Camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and trained by Mohammed Abdulla Bal Dibailah, won the fourth lap through the female camel “Sarab”.
The Presidential Camels seized four laps. Camels owned by Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Al Nayfat Camels owned by HRH Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz won one lap each.
The best timing in the morning session was set by the local pure-breed, Abkar female camel “Al Wathba”, from the camels owned by the Presidential Stables and trained by Sultan Mohammed Al Wehaibi, clocking in 07 minutes 22 seconds for the 5km race.
Afternoon Session - Symbols Awards
The afternoon session saw the Al Asifa Camels owned by Dubai Crown Prince, and trained by Giath Al Hillali, take victory in the first two laps and five others.
The first lap allocated for the Open Laqaya Abkar Category won by “Al Shandagha”, clocked in a timing of 7 minutes 13:04 seconds for the 5km race, and received the Crown Prince’s Trophy and AED 400,000.
In lap two designated for Laqaya Jeadan Category, and within 7 minutes 12:08 seconds, the male camel “Al Baz”, won the Rifle prize, and the AED 300,000.
The Zabeel Camels owned by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and trained by Rashid Mohammed Muroshid, did display a superb performance, resulting in six laps victory.
Camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, won two laps in the afternoon session. The Presidential Camels won three laps and camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum won the final lap.
The Best Timing
Male camel, “Al Baz” owned by Al Asifa Stables, set the festival's record, crossing the finishing line in a record time of 7 minutes 12:08 seconds for the 5 km race.
