Day Five of Yezza Category For Tribesmen
Today is the fifth day of the ten day–long Dubai Crown Prince Camel Festival, at Al Marmoum Smart Camel Racing Track. The festival does reflect the amazing and wonderful fauna of the desert and displays a fantastic performance in a race allocated for the Yezza Category i.e. male and female camels aged 4 years, to race a distance of 6km, vying for the valuable prizes allocated, in-kind and in–cash.
MORNING SESSION
The morning session was very competitive. Each camel owner fielded their superstar but, it was the fastest of the lot was a female camel named “Afnan” [meaning Branches], from the local reproductive camels, owned by Rashid Saeed Bin Manana, winning in a record time of 09:04:7 minutes, granting her owner the key of the Nissan Station vehicle plus Dh20,000.
EVENING SESSION
During the evening session, the Dubai Camel Racing Club was honored with the presence of the event’s patron, His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan himself.
The first lap watched the skilled female camel “Eltimas“ from the local reproductive camels Yezza Abkar, who granted her owner Khalid Faisal Mohamed Shirame, the Crown Prince Trophy and Dh400,000 in cash prize at a record time of 09:03:3 minutes.
The second lap was won by superior “Shaheen“ [meaning Gray Strong Falcon],owned by Suwaidan Musabah Al Mutafayej Al Katabi. Shaheen completed the race in 09:02:2 minutes, to hand his owner the Rifle plus Dh300,000 in cash.
The third lap was for the category, Yezza Abkar, and the fascinating females displayed a superb performance led by “Khoufa” [meaning Fear], owned by Saeed Mohammed Manana Ghadeer. She took the victory in 09:04:6 minutes, to win the Dubai Crown Prince Trophy and Dh400,000 in cash.
The fourth lap for the category, Yezza Jeadan, was seized by the hefty male-camel “Mulhim“ [meaning Inspirational], and handed his owner Mattar Mohammed Dahroui Al Amrie, the Rifle and Dh300,000, after crossing the finishing line at 09:02:8 minutes.
