Day Six of Yezza Category For Their Highnesses The Sheikhs
With the event’s Chief Patron, His Excellency Dubai Crown Prince in attendance, and Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum also in attendance, Al Asifa Stable is determined to prevail and to continue its supremacy during this unique festival.
THE MORNING SESSION
The weather was sportive and pleasant and the Al Asifa Camels kept the Al Marmoum Smart Camel Racing Track buzzing with excitement through their exceptional performance. Leading trainer, Giath Al Hillali, proudly snatched up the first 13 laps out of the 16 laps allocated for the morning session of a distance of 6 km. The 15th lap was also taken by speedy female camel “Ecktishaf“ [meaning Discovery], recorded the best race at 09:07:4 minutes.
The other three laps were won by, His Excellency Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in lap 13 by “Ashaheniyah” trained by Khalifa Sultan Bel Rasheed.
Lap 14 was won by “Shaula” [meaning Torch], owned by His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, trained by Ahmed Sultan Bel Rasheed.
Lap 16 was won by “Kaheela” [meaning wrapped in Kohl], owned by His Excellency Sheikh Khalid Bin Sultan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
All winners received cash prizes.
THE EVENING SESSION
The afternoon session comprised 15 laps; and was took off at 02:00 pm.
The first winner seized the Dubai Crown Prince Trophy and Dh400,000 in cash. The second winner snatched the Rifle and Dh300,000 in cash.
Winners from the 3rd to 6th Laps received Toyota Station Vehicles. Laps 7 to 10 winners received Nissan Safari Vehicles. The last five winners received Landcruiser SUVs.
SAUDI AND PRESIDENTIAL CAMELS DOMINATE
For the afternoon session, Lap 1 witnessed strong competition but it was the brilliant female camel “Al Dhabi” [meaning The Deer], owned by HRH Prince Turki Bin Mohammed Bin Fahad Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. Al Dhabi, trained by Hamoud Mohammed Al Wehaibi, recorded a dominating victory over her rivals, clocking in 08:45:1 minutes for the 6km contest and grasped the Dubai Crown Prince Trophy and Dh400,000 in cash.
The Presidential Stables, succeeded in snatching the Rifle and the Dh300,000 in cash, when they sent out the powerful male camel “Shaheen” trained by Ali Jameel Al Wehaibi, to a 08:43:4 minute victory in the second lap of 6km race. Al Wehaibi received the Rifle and Dh300,000 in cash.
Al Asifa Camels won 4 races. Zabeel Stables won 4 races. Camels owned by His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum won 2 races.
