Grand Finale of HE Sheikh Hamdan (Fazza فزاع ) Camel Festival 2018

The 11 day activities witnessed huge participations from the UAE and the GCC Countries on various camel categories, namely Haqaqa- Abkar and Jeadan – 2 years aged, Laqaya – 3 years aged, Yezzaa – 4 years aged, Thanaya – 5 years aged, and Haul and Zumool – 6years aged, competed  in 323 laps of race.


124 laps for camels owned by Their Highnesses the Sheikhs with a further 199 laps for camels owned by The Tribesmen, to vie for more than AED 95 million in cash prizes or in – kind. In-kind includes keys to 183  luxury 4-Wheel Drive Vehicles, 12 trophies , 12 rifles, 2 daggers and His Excellency Crown Prince of Dubai’s  2 Golden Swords.


Presidential Camels Grasp The Title

The fourth and final race which had the festival’s most precious award “Crown Prince of Dubai Golden Sword” did witness strong competition between the representatives of the magnificent three stables; The Presidential, Al Asifa and H.E. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Stable.

Finale

The finale of the festival comprised of four races for Open Zumool and Haul camels. The first two were allocated for camels owned by Tribesmen and the other two were designed for camels owned by Their Highnesses The Sheikhs.


The final stages of the race saw three competitors “Al Misk”, “Affaal” and “Ashahiniya” in a dramatic dead-heat challenge for the Golden Sword, but it was the fastest and brilliant she-camel “Al Misk”, “The Musk” in English, owned by The Presidential  Stable and trained by champion trainer Ali Jameel Al Wehaibi, managed to reach the finishing line in a record timing of 12:01:6 minutes, and seized the Crown Prince of Dubai Golden Sword, and AED One Million in cash.


The she – camel “Affaal” owned by Al Asifa and trained by Giath Al Hillali, was in second place, “Ashahiniya” from H.E. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Stable, trained by Faisal Talib Shirame, took third place.


The third rich race was won in great style by the strong he-camel “Al Saham” i.e. “The Arrow”, owned by Al Asifa and trained by Giath Al Hillali, in 12:29:9 minutes, snatching the Golden Dagger and AED 800,000 in cash.
