The Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, attended the 2018 Camel Races regularly, including today's races allocated for camels owned by Their Highnesses The Sheikhs.
Day 6 : Yezzaa Category for The Sheikhs
The sixth day of the festival was allocated for Yezzaa Category and was named Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Trophy, after the Late Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Presidential Camels Are Indomitable
The morning session witnessed strong competitions between different prominent stables’ stars participated in 16 laps covered a distance of 6 kilometers.
The races witnessed strong challenge, pretty and powerful competitions, but, the mighty Presidential Camels continued leading and pioneering the Stables Championship, after they showed unmatched performance, sweeping the track by snatching eight laps, followed by Al Asifa Camels – 4 wins, 3 wins for His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Another win was also registered by camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Lap 12 recorded the best timing registered by the he-camel “Al Hazir” when he completed the 06 Km in 08:54:2 minutes.
Despite the dusty and stormy weather, the Al Marmoun Smart Camel Racing Track did witness strong challenges for the afternoon session, with pretty and powerful competitions demonstrated by the participants in general and the Presidential Camels in particular.
The first four richest laps carried the precious symbols of the day, but the Presidential Camels showed no mercy and did not leave a single scope for coincidences, winning all the four laps.
The First lap for Open Yezzaa Abkar, had the Presidential Camels’ pioneer trainer Mohammed Atiq Bin Zaytoun Al Mehairi, putting forward his brilliant she-camel “Shawaheen “. She became the first to cross the finish line in 08:54:2 minutes, granting him the Trophy and the AED500,000.
Bin Zaytoun couldn’t wait too long to seize another booty by winning the second Trophy along with the AED500, 000, when his female-camel “Zafrana” became the first to cross the 6km finish line allocated for Pure-bred Local Yezzaa Abkar, in 08:56:0 minutes.
The third lap for Open Yezzaa Jeadan, witnessed the emergence of the Presidential Camels’ second trainer Ali Bin Jameel Al Wehaibi, and his clever he-camel “Ashqar” i.e.; “Blonde”. Ashqar beat his rivals within 08:56:4 minutes and grasped the Rifle and AED400, 000.
Again the pioneer trainer Bin Zaytoun scored a perfect hat-trick by winning lap four for Pure-bred Local Yezzaa Jeada, with his magnificent he-camel “Shaheen” who snatched the Rifle and AED400, 000, with 08:56:7 minute finish.

The Presidential Camels won 10 laps, Al Asifa Camels - 5 laps, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum - 1 lap, camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum - 1 lap, and camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan - 1 lap.
