His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, was in attendance of the Dubai Crown Prince Camel Race Festival 2019, with his son, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, for the Day 4 Races on February 26, allocated to Laqaya Category For Their Highnesses The Sheikhs.
Morning Session
Al Asifa Prevails
The morning session witnessed the dominance of Al Asifa Camels under the supervision and training of Geyath Al Hillali, winning 8 out of the 16 laps allocated.
Camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and trained by Mohammed Abdulla Bal Dibailah, won the 4th lap with the female camel, Sarab.
The Presidential Camels were victorious in four laps. Camels owned by Sheikh Saeed Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Al Nayfat Camels owned by HRH Prince Turki Bin Mohammed Bin Fahd Bin Abdulaziz won one lap each.
The best timing in the morning session was set by the speedy local Abkar female camel Al Wathba, from the camels owned by the Presidential Stables and trained by Sultan Mohammed Al Wehaibi, who finished in a record timing of 07 minutes 22:00 seconds for the 5km race.
Afternoon Session - Symbols Awards
Al Asifa Camels Stay Indomitable
The afternoon session did see the Al Asifa Camels owned by the Dubai Crown Prince, and trained by Giath Al Hillali, sweep up 7 laps.
The 1st Lap - Open Laqaya Abkar Category was won by the camel, Al Shandagha, who clocked in 07:13:04 seconds for the 5km race, taking home the Crown Prince’s Trophy and AED400,000 in cash.
The 2nd Lap - Laqaya Jeadan Category was won by the male camel, Al Baz, who finished in 07:12:08 seconds, taking home The Rifle and AED300,000 in cash.
The Zabeel Camels owned by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and trained by Rashid Mohammed Muroshid, did display a superb performance, resulting in a six-lap victory.
In summary, Camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, won two laps, while the Presidential Camels won three laps, and camels owned by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum won the final lap.

The record-breaker was male camel, Al Baz in Lap 2 - Laqaya Jaedan Category, who finished the 5km race in 07:12:08secs
