The Sustainable City kicks off the first International Horse Jumping Championship on its grass field

Wednesday, February 13th marks the beginning of the events of the first two-star international horse jumping championship (CSI2*) hosted by the Sustainable City in cooperation with the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF) and the International Equestrian Federation (FEI).


The championship takes place over four days beginning from today and concluding on Saturday. More than 100 female and male riders from 28 countries will participate in the championship where the jumps will be set at a height 125cm for the small tour, 135cm for the medium tour, 140cm for the big tour and 145cm for the Grand Prix to be held on Friday. Riders will be competing a total purse of 58,000 Euros.


The Championship is open to all and will be accompanied by some free family-friendly activities over the four days. There will be a raffle; K9 dog show; pony rides; the Origin Market - a pop-up shopping experience organized by The Big Beauty Scoop; live music; yoga and fitness classes; a horse trick show and much more.


Equestrian and pet goods can also be purchased from the various stalls set up around the grounds or you can opt to adopt a new furry friend through the pet adoption stand. On Friday, there will be beauty demos; a Pop-Up Market; and a competition for the best dressed lady, man, boy and girl, with prizes for all categories.


The championship will be presided by Farhang Sadeghi with Khalil Ibrahim leading the ground jury as Ground Jury President. The courses have been designed by Ali Mohajer with assistance from course designers. Chief Steward, Lynn Al Redha, will supervise the courses with assistance from four stewards.
